Senior SEO Account Manager

The Headlines

Hybrid role, working from our Shoreditch office for 3 days/week. Salary range for this role is £50,000 to £57,500.


The Mission

As a Senior SEO Account Manager at Diffusion Digital, you will be responsible for developing and executing tactical yet tasteful SEO strategies that drive results for our diverse range of premium and luxury clients. You will be the main point of contact for our largest SEO accounts, collaborating closely with the SEO team and other digital marketing teams, notably PPC and social to deliver long-term organic success.

The Remit


This is a great opportunity for an experienced and ambitious SEO account manager to join Diffusion Digital as part of a growing SEO team, with a view of the role developing into SEO Director within the year as the company grows and necessary skills are demonstrated.

Primarily, you will be working with the SEO team to own (i.e. develop, implement and refine) tailored SEO strategies for clients in the luxury sector. As many of our SEO retainers form part of a wider digital marketing strategy, the ability to collaborate and prioritise with internal teams will be key, including PPC, social, content and web development to ensure efficient and effective multi-channel success.

You will have a sound technical and content foundation with sufficient experience to lead, train and guide a team across all elements of SEO.

You will confidently analyse and interpret complex data sets to identify trends, insights, and opportunities, distilling them and conveying them in clear and relevant terms to your clients. Working with other teams where necessary you will produce detailed and accurate reports for clients, highlighting the impact of your SEO efforts as part of the wider marketing strategy.

You’ll regularly participate in pitches for new business, using the same analytical and communication skills to support winning new clients and projects.

You’ll constantly be thinking about ways of improving our offering and staying ahead of the curve. You’ll stay up to date with industry developments and best practices, sharing your insights with the team and inspiring them to do the same.

You will pay great attention to detail, value technical excellence and have a love for building long-term success through quality content strategy.

You will have a passion for the luxury industry, even if you haven’t worked with luxury brands before. You will be insatiably curious, kind-hearted, collaborative and ambitious.

A typical week


  • Working with the SEO team to audit client websites, conduct technical analysis, competitor and keyword research, often taking on elements of the work yourself, and always taking responsibility for the final product;
  • Based on above insights, developing and managing the implementation of SEO strategies in response to client business objectives, including content and link outreach strategy;
  • Collaborating with other teams, including PPC, social, UX, design and technical;
  • Leading all client communication including monitoring Google updates and keeping clients informed of the potential impact on their performance;
  • Monitoring and reporting on SEO campaigns, identifying and implementing improvements;
  • Providing training and guidance to junior team members, helping them develop their SEO skills;
  • Responding to RFPs with the new business team;
  • Pitching confidently to current clients and future clients;
  • Working with Operations to refine and improve processes; and
  • Collaborating with colleagues in the creation of content for the agency’s own website.

Skills & Experience


  • We think this role will suit someone who has 5+ years of experience in SEO within a digital marketing agency.
  • You must have a proven track record of developing and executing successful SEO campaigns, including leveraging data to achieve success and communicating with clients.
  • You should have experience working with and often leading small teams.
  • An in-depth understanding of SEO best practices, tools, and technologies is key, as well as experience working with popular SEO tools, such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Ahrefs and familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as CMS platforms such as Umbraco and WordPress.
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.
