THE BRIEF
Thom Sweeney is a British tailoring house based in Mayfair that offers a range of luxury menswear services, including Bespoke, Made to Measure and Ready to Wear suits for the likes of Ryan Gosling, Daniel Craig and David Gandy.
The client approached us at the beginning of 2020 to design and build a new website, which combines a shiny new eCommerce offering with a revitalised brand identity.
TEMPORARY SITE
Shortly after we partnered with Thom Sweeney saw the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, which meant that there was a more urgent need for a quick and user-friendly eCommerce platform, particularly as there was no eCommerce offering to facilitate online sales at this point.
In under four weeks, we configured a temporary eCommerce store for the client using a Shopify template, in order to allow Thom Sweeney to sell its Spring Summer 2020 collection online during the lockdown, whilst we worked on the larger-scale website project in line with the launch of their new London Flagship store.
VISUAL IDENTITY
Following a successful Discovery phase, we worked collaboratively with the client to revitalise the existing brand identity and establish a new set of brand guidelines.
Taking the previous colour palette, which was dark, heavy and quite dated, we introduced colour tones that were more light and elegant, in order to establish a modern and sophisticated brand look and feel, which would translate through to the new website.
BESPOKE & MADE TO MEASURE OFFERING
Thom Sweeney are first and foremost bespoke tailors, and so it was vital that the new website was designed in a way that showcases both the Bespoke and Made-to-Measure offerings, in a way that embodies the personalised in-store experience.
We designed dedicated content-rich landing pages for each of these services in order to fully immerse users into the offline experience, with a view to encourage users to enquire to make an in-store appointment.
CUSTOM-BUILT SHOPPABLE LOOKBOOK
A core requirement for the new website was to include a shoppable lookbook, in order to demonstrate to potential consumers how certain products can be styled alongside other products, as well as to provide the ability to add a full “look” (or just certain components from a look) to your basket without having to scroll through multiple product pages.
We developed a custom app in line with the brand look and feel in order to facilitate this functionality and allow users to checkout seamlessly.
